Nat Torkington is a Director on SilverStripe's Board.

In 1992, Nat ran the first web server in New Zealand for Victoria University. He spent ten years in the US from 1995-2005, where he wrote a bestselling book on computer programming, ran conferences on topics from open source software to bioinformatics, and worked with startups and large companies in Silicon Valley.

He moved back to New Zealand and started Kiwi Foo Camp, an American-style "unconference". He is a consultant on web strategy and startups. In addition to his role with SilverStripe, he is on the council of InternetNZ and the board of The Perl Foundation.
